NEED HELP WITH A SUB OR BUS? We are excited to announce a NEW program for NWSP members.

Northwest Scholastic Press (NWSP) and the University of Oregon School of Journalism and Communication are now offering to cover bus and substitute teacher fees for programs in need.

Bus reimbursement: We’re offering to cover bus fees for schools with low income students who would not normally attend Fall Press Day due to the cost — up to $600.
Note: Depending on the amount of students you bring with you, we may ask you to share a bus with a neighboring school to and from Eugene.

Substitute reimbursement: We’re offering to cover substitute teacher fees for advisers who need assistance paying for a one — up to $200.

Note: All applicants must be NWSP members.

 Application deadline October 14 http://tinyurl.com/FPD-Bus-and-Sub-Reimbursement

CONTESTS: (Costs covered with registration but students must be from an NWSP member school to participate.)

Best of Show: The best of show contest is for current publications, broadcast, and online web staffs. Contest materials will be brought to and judged at Fall Press Day, and the winners will be announced at the award ceremony.
Judges will look at overall content, technical difficulty and appearance. Awards will be given for first through third place.

Write-Offs: You may register up to three students per category.
Categories: On-site contests (news writing, feature writing, sports writing)
Email-in photo contest (feature, human interest, news and sports)
